About adiuto

adiuto is a free, not-for-profit platform that helps local initiatives and NGOs organise the collection and distribution of goods, donations and volunteer work—in everyday life and when a crisis makes help urgent.

For everyday aid and crisis response

Adiuto was originally built in response to practical needs in crisis and disaster management: coordinating help when needs change quickly and time is short.

Adiuto helps initiatives attract more useful support for their everyday work. People can find concrete needs, see quantities and drop-off locations, and commit directly. Teams can plan goods distribution and volunteer shifts and track what has been promised and what has arrived, whether for food distribution, clothing aid or other local support.

Reach more people, bring in more donations

Each additional initiative makes more needs and opportunities to help visible. That can attract more donors and volunteers, whose participation makes adiuto more valuable to further initiatives. This can create a strong network effect that also benefits small organisations. People discover relevant needs beyond their existing circles and can commit directly. Greater reach, easier discovery and concrete commitments can substantially increase donation volume and get more needed goods to the people who need them.

Why everyday use also matters in a crisis

Regular use connects teams, locations, supporters and current needs through a working process. This gives crisis response an existing structure to build on. In a rapidly changing emergency, there is often little time to introduce new software, establish responsibilities or organise a network from scratch. Initiatives already using adiuto can adapt their ongoing work to more urgent needs.

How it works

Initiatives publish needs as tasks. Donors and volunteers find relevant tasks nearby, pledge a contribution and collect it in a mission. The handover or check-in records that help has arrived, so the initiative can track commitments, completed help and remaining needs.

Who is behind it

Simon Neuffer and A. Shah started adiuto in Berlin. It is currently operated as an unregistered, non-profit-seeking initiative focused on making local help simpler and more direct.
